Scrapmettle actors read The Amen Corner for Scuppernong Books' Year of James Baldwin. The first play written by the author is a familial look at secular and spiritual life through the lens of Margaret, a pastor, mother and wife. Margaret's past comes back to confront her when her son's father who she abandoned to pursue her church career shows up on Margaret's door step.

Be on the lookout for upcoming Baldwin events at Scuppernong. We'll be back in the fall for a reading of Blues for Mr. Charlie.
